Late last month, whilst visiting Budapest for the first time, I stumbled across these great bags and wallets in a pop-up shop from Balkan Tango. They are made with recycled bicycle innertubes, so they’re just soft, adorable, slightly edgy and very eco-friendly.
I am surprised I have not seen something similar at home (as I do live in East Van, and this just seams like an East Van sort of thing) but I absolutely love it. Balkan Tango is carried in shops in Austria, Hungary, Norway, Germany and the Czech Republic, and I am most certainly kicking myself for not buying the Budapest Bag Woven, pictured above, when I was holding it in my hands. However, there is hope in that for just 15 Euro, it can be shipped outside of Europe.
The bags are waterproof and machine washable, making these seem like that deadly combination that gets me to spend money: pretty, and I won’t destroy it if it gets mixed in with the wash!
